On Wednesday, May 21, the UEFA Europa League final saw Tottenham face off against Manchester United.

The match wasn't the most spectacular, with the fate of the trophy decided by a single goal netted in the closing minutes of the first half. In the 42nd minute, Johnson steered the ball into the net following a cross from Sarr.

In the second half, Manchester United pushed hard to claw their way back and created several chances, but Tottenham held firm. In the end, it was a narrow 1-0 victory and Europa League triumph for Spurs.

This marks Tottenham's first European trophy since the 1983/84 season, when they lifted the UEFA Cup. It's also their first title of any kind since 2008.

Thanks to this victory, Tottenham will play in the UEFA Champions League next season. It is worth noting that the team finished 17th in the Premier League, so the Europa League trophy was Spurs' only way to European competitions.
