Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou reveals cause of Rodrigo Bentancur’s sudden collapse
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou provided an update on the condition of midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur following his sudden collapse during the first leg of the League Cup semifinal against Liverpool. In an interview shared on the club’s official X page, Postecoglou reassured fans that Bentancur is fine and has already returned home.
Postecoglou attributed the incident to a likely concussion.
“Good news, thankfully. He was in the hospital and they did all the tests, just checking everything's okay, and all good, he's back home and he's fine, he's feeling good,” Postecoglou said.
Bentancur fainted unexpectedly during the match and was stretchered off the field before being taken to the hospital. The player later regained consciousness and posted on social media to inform fans that he was doing well.

The midfielder will now require time to recover before returning to action.
It’s worth noting that Bentancur was previously suspended for seven matches due to a racial slur directed at teammate Son Heung-min.
