Details: Álvaro Carreras plays as a left-back and has successfully established himself at Benfica. Last season, after joining the team, he gradually earned a place in the starting lineup and became a regular starter towards the end of the campaign. In the current season, he has started eight matches, playing the full 90 minutes in seven of them. Carreras has also become a key player for Spain's U-21 national team.
His performances have attracted interest from several top clubs. According to O Jogo, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Barcelona are closely monitoring him.
Notably, Carreras has previously been part of both Real Madrid and Manchester United. In 2017, he joined Real Madrid's system and, three years later, moved to the English club. After several loan spells, he signed with Benfica for €6 million. Currently, his market value is estimated at €8 million according to Transfermarkt.
