Modest Bologna have every chance to finish this season in the top-4 of Serie A and represent Italy in the Champions League next season. Such results attract interest in certain members of the squad from bigger clubs, but Bologna's interest is more annoying than satisfying.

The interest in head coach Thiago Motta and individual players, among others Joshua Zirkzee, Bologna director Claudio Fenucci commented:

"Thiago is working as if he has a long-term contract with us [Motta's agreement runs until the summer of 2024 - note]. It's no trouble that he hasn't yet confirmed his journey with us for the coming years. What worries me a bit is the constant rumours and noise around our players.

I don't like it. We are a strong club, one of the strongest in Serie A, and we don't want to change players in the future. It's very annoying to see many of our players with other clubs, it's an unpleasant feeling," Fenucci told Radio Serie A.
