Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos will soon make a decision regarding his participation in the German national team, as reported by The Athletic.

According to sources, the German footballer may resume his career with the national team in order to play in the upcoming UEFA European Championship. In the coming weeks, Toni Kroos intends to make a final decision.

It is reported that if he does decide to return to the national team, head coach Julian Nagelsmann will call him up for the friendly matches against France and the Netherlands in March. However, if he chooses not to return, it is likely that the midfielder will no longer be called up for international duty.

Recall that the match in the UEFA Euro 2020 Round of 16, in which Germany lost 0-2 to England, marked Kroos' last appearance for the national team. A few days later, the footballer announced his retirement from international football.

Before his retirement, Kroos had played 106 matches, scoring 17 goals and providing 15 assists for the national team. He won the FIFA World Cup in 2014 in Brazil and earned bronze medals at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
