Toluca Secures 11th Title, Closing in on Liga MX's All-Time Greats

Toluca’s victory in the Clausura 2025 not only ended a 15-year title drought, but also reshaped the leaderboard of Liga MX’s most decorated clubs. According to Milenio, the Red Devils have now secured their 11th league championship, cementing their place as the third most successful team in Mexican football history.
Their 2–0 win over América in the final denied the reigning champions a shot at a fourth straight title. For head coach Antonio Mohamed, it marked his fourth personal Liga MX trophy, having previously won with Tijuana, América, and Monterrey.
With this triumph, Toluca pulls further ahead of Cruz Azul (9 titles) and narrows the gap to Chivas (12) and América (16), who remain the only teams with more championships. The top tier of Mexican football continues to evolve, with Toluca firmly back in the conversation.
The all-time list also includes León and Tigres with 8 titles, Pumas and Pachuca with 7, Santos Laguna with 6, and Monterrey with 5. Each new title reshuffles the order—and reinforces that Liga MX remains one of the most competitive leagues in the Americas.
