Tolu Arokodare Shines Off the Bench as Ajax Beat Atalanta 2-0 in Conference League

Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare continued his impressive goalscoring form after coming off the bench to score in Ajax’s 2-0 victory over Atalanta in the UEFA Conference League.

Arokodare struck in the 87th minute to put Ajax ahead before Abdellah Ouazane added a second goal in stoppage time to seal an important win for the Amsterdam club. The Nigerian also provided the assist for Ouazane’s late finish.

The result gave Ajax their first three points in the competition after a disappointing start to their European campaign, having suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Hajduk Split in their opening match last week.

The Nigerian international has now scored eight goals in nine appearances across all competitions for the Dutch side.
