Timo Werner could face Lionel Messi as an opponent

It looks like another European star is about to join the ranks of Major League Soccer.
Details: According to Fabrizio Romano on X, New York Red Bulls are set to sign 29-year-old striker Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.
The source reports that the clubs have already opened negotiations, and the transfer appears imminent. Werner himself has made it clear that he has no intention of staying at Leipzig, as he is not getting enough minutes on the pitch. Last season, Timo spent time in the Premier League on loan with Tottenham, where he managed to score just one goal in 27 appearances for the Spurs.
Werner previously played in the English top flight for Chelsea, but eventually left the London club to return to Leipzig, where he struggled to recapture his best form. The player’s current market value is estimated at €7 million by Transfermarkt.
Reminder: Leo Messi recently reacted to Inter Miami reaching the Club World Cup playoffs
