Sebastián Córdova was left out of Tigres’ squad for the second leg against LA Galaxy in the Concacaf Champions Cup, a decision made just hours before the match, according to TUDN. The 27-year-old midfielder had initially been expected to be on the bench, but was removed from the matchday list at the last minute by interim coach Guido Pizarro.

During TUDN’s broadcast for the United States, analysts discussed the surprising exclusion. Aldo Farías suggested it could be a “last warning” for the player, while Paco González interpreted the move as a clear sign of a break between Córdova and the club. “If he can’t make a 20-man squad for the most important match of the season, that says everything,” González said.

Córdova’s form has been underwhelming in recent tournaments, and he wasn’t even selected to start in last Friday’s league match against Puebla, despite Tigres using a heavily rotated squad. The midfielder’s lack of involvement has fueled speculation about his future with the club.

Per TUDN, Córdova’s contract with Tigres is set to expire in December. The club is reportedly considering offloading him this summer—either via sale or a player swap—to avoid losing him on a free transfer at the end of the year. His absence against LA Galaxy could be the clearest indication yet that his time in Monterrey is nearing its end.
