Three CPL Players Named to 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup Rosters

CONCACAF revealed the final 26-man squads for the 2025 Gold Cup on Thursday, with three current Canadian Premier League players set to take part. As reported by CanPL.com, Halifax Wanderers captain Andre Rampersad and York United midfielder Steffen Yeates have been called up by Trinidad and Tobago, while Vancouver FC’s Mikaël Cantave will represent Haiti.
This marks Rampersad’s second Gold Cup appearance, having scored his first international goal during the 2023 tournament against Jamaica. He enters this edition with 20 caps. Yeates, meanwhile, will be making his tournament debut after scoring in Gold Cup qualifying to help Trinidad secure their spot. He has six international appearances to date.
Rampersad and Yeates will meet Cantave in Group D, which also features the United States and guest nation Saudi Arabia.
Two former CPL players will also feature in this year’s tournament: former Cavalry FC defender Joel Waterman has been called up by Canada, while Garven Metusala, previously of Forge FC, joins Cantave in Haiti’s squad.
The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup kicks off on Saturday, June 14, with OneSoccer serving as the tournament’s official broadcaster in Canada.
