New Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior is set to welcome several new signings as early as the winter transfer window. The club’s main priority remains strengthening the heart of the defense, according to Goal.
Chelsea are paying close attention to 20-year-old Rennes defender Jérémy Jacquet, a product of the club’s renowned academy and widely considered one of Europe’s brightest young defensive prospects. Negotiations are already underway, but Rennes are not yet ready to part ways with the player. The Blues are prepared to offer up to €50 million to accelerate the deal.
Should a January deal for Jacquet prove out of reach, Chelsea have lined up alternative options: 21-year-old Jacobo Ramón from Como and 28-year-old Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth, whose contract expires this summer.
In addition to defensive reinforcements, the club is also weighing moves to bolster the midfield and attack, aiming to be fully prepared for the summer transfer window and to strengthen the squad as soon as suitable opportunities arise.
