Thomas Partey Charged with Two Additional Rape Counts, Court Date Set for March 13
Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged with two additional counts of rape and is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on March 13.
This morning, the Crown Prosecution Service announced that the additional charges referred to a separate report of non-recent offences in 2020 and a new investigation carried out by Metropolitan Police. They added that the fresh allegations were first reported last August.
Partey was previously charged last year with five counts relating to alleged offences said to have taken place between 2021 and 2022 during his time at Premier League side Arsenal. In September, the Ghana international appeared at Southwark Crown Court, where he entered not guilty pleas to the original five charges and was granted conditional bail.
The initial charges were filed four days after his contract with Arsenal expired at the end of June, bringing his time with the North London club to an end.
