The semi-finalists of the current UEFA Champions League season have been revealed. Reaching the penultimate stage of the tournament are teams from four different countries: Barcelona (Spain), Inter Milan (Italy), PSG (France), and Arsenal (England).

It's intriguing that teams from four different countries in the semi-finals of the main modern European competition are a rare occurrence. For instance, the last time this happened was in 2018, when Roma, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Real Madrid reached this stage.

Overall, for the recent years, this event is quite extraordinary. Before the 2017/2018 season, the last time it occurred was back in 2010, and in the 21st century, fans have witnessed the struggle of four different associations in the semi-finals only four times.

However, previously, diversity in the semi-finals was a more common phenomenon. In the last decade of the 20th century, Europe's top four clubs included some rather exotic clubs by today's standards, such as Panathinaikos (Greece) or Dynamo Kyiv (Ukraine).

Let's recall that Kylian Mbappe was injured during the UEFA Champions League match between Real Madrid and Arsenal.
