Messi is fondly remembered in France.
Details: Today, the Spanish version of the official French Ligue 1 page on social network X published a heartwarming post dedicated to the legendary 38-year-old Lionel Messi.
In their post, Ligue 1 urges everyone to take care of the Earth, since it's the only place where you can witness the genius of Messi on the pitch:
"Let's protect the Earth — it's the only planet where Leo Messi plays."
The photo also shows the Earth itself, captured through a porthole by the Artemis II crew aboard the Orion spacecraft, now traversing the vastness of space.
Leo played in French Ligue 1 from 2021 to 2023 with PSG, having joined from Barcelona as a free agent.
In the summer of 2023, Messi left PSG and moved to Inter Miami, where he continues to play today.
