The transfer saga surrounding the Danish striker has finally reached its logical conclusion.

Details: Rasmus Højlund, as quoted by renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, has announced his departure from Manchester United and a full transfer to Italian side Napoli, where he has already spent some time.

The forward delivered an emotional and heartfelt message to fans of both clubs, admitting that this move stirs up mixed, yet powerful emotions.

"Now I am officially a Napoli player and I bid farewell to Manchester United. It's a strange feeling, because throughout the past year I already felt like a Neapolitan. The way you, the fans, supported me made me feel at home and restored my confidence. I am endlessly grateful for that," Højlund was quoted as saying by the club's press office.

At the same time, the 23-year-old Dane couldn't hold back his tears as he spoke about his time at Old Trafford:

“Saying goodbye to Manchester United is something that brings a storm of emotions. My childhood dream came true when I stepped onto the Old Trafford pitch wearing the red jersey. That's why my goal today symbolizes a new, confident beginning where I will give my all for Napoli, and at the same time serves as a thank you to all the fans, players, and staff at Manchester United who helped a boy fulfill his dream. It's time for new ambitions, so let's chase them together.”

It's worth noting that this season, the Dane played 43 matches for the Italian club, scoring 15 goals and providing 8 assists.
