The game against Pittsburgh was truly special for several Edmonton players.
Details: Edmonton’s confident 6-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins not only netted the Oilers three points but also marked a historic achievement that no other NHL team has ever managed.
Thanks to a brace from McDavid and a goal from Draisaitl, Edmonton has become the first team in NHL history to have five players each surpass the 1,000-point milestone.
Here are the Oilers who have reached the 1,000-point mark:
- Wayne Gretzky: 1,669 (583+1,086).
- Connor McDavid: 1,138 (381+757).
- Jari Kurri: 1,043 (474+569).
- Mark Messier: 1,034 (392+642).
- Leon Draisaitl: 1,003 (416+587).
Currently, Edmonton sits sixth in the NHL’s Western Conference with 38 points. The Oilers’ next game will be against Boston on December 19.
