A true sensation unfolded in the FA Cup as modest Macclesfield pulled off a giant-killing. The humble sixth-tier club knocked the defending champions, Crystal Palace, out of the tournament.
Remarkably, Macclesfield have equaled a feat that hadn't been achieved for more than a century. They became the first non-league team since 1909 to eliminate the reigning FA Cup holders. That year, it was Crystal Palace themselves who managed the upset, defeating Wolverhampton in the first round.

It's also worth noting that Macclesfield became the first lower-league side since 2009 to score twice against a Premier League team in the FA Cup. And against the defending champions, such a feat hadn't been managed since 1939.
