One of the two games that will determine Erik ten Hag’s future as Manchester United's head coach is the upcoming match against Aston Villa. Unai Emery, Ten Hag’s counterpart, is also giving significant attention to the fixture.
Speaking to the press, the Aston Villa manager admitted that he had to focus on the United clash more than on their recent Champions League game against Bayern Munich. Emery also spoke positively about his upcoming opponent:
"I have a lot of respect for him. We've lost our last four games against them, both home and away, and they are a team of winners. They beat Manchester City and won the FA Cup. This is a club that usually wins. They haven't found consistent form in the Premier League, but I’ve had to think about how to prepare for this match more than I did for the Bayern game," Emery said in a press conference.
The first match that will determine Ten Hag’s future at Manchester United was their Europa League clash with Porto, where despite a two-goal lead, the "Red Devils" had to scramble to avoid defeat.
