The striker has come back to the club where his journey began—from an unknown forward to a global football superstar.
Details: After announcing his departure from Saudi side Al-Qadsiah, 36-year-old Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang paid a visit to his home club, French outfit Saint-Étienne.
For now, there is no information on whether Aubameyang will sign for Saint-Étienne or if this visit remains a heartfelt gesture of respect. However, with Pierre soon to become a free agent, the situation is giving fans plenty to speculate about.
Aubameyang played for Saint-Étienne from 2011 to 2013, during which time he became a fan favorite at the modest French club. Supporters still cherish warm memories of his performances, even 13 years on.
Last season, Auba made 36 appearances for Al-Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia, netting 21 goals and providing 3 assists. However, this summer his contract expired and both parties opted not to extend the deal.
