Todd Boehly acquired Chelsea in 2022, and back then, there were rumors about a possible redevelopment of Stamford Bridge. Now, the club owner has commented on this matter.
Details: In an interview with Bloomberg, Boehly stated that they currently have a great opportunity, but in England, such matters are not easily resolved. Either everyone agrees with the plan, or alternative paths will have to be sought.
He noted that they have 16–20 years to contemplate and implement a potential project for building a completely new stadium.
Quote: "In London, it's all very complicated. We have numerous parties whose interests need to be considered, and of course, Chelsea fans are one of them. In the long term, we want to build something new and will definitely find a solution," Boehly emphasized.
Reminder: Todd owns only 12.8% of the club's shares, while Eghbali holds 62.5%. Therefore, the latter has more influence over the club, however, Boehly has made it clear that he might leave Chelsea if Eghbali does not heed his opinion regarding the future of the stadium.
