Barcelona sporting director Deco spoke about the results of the draw for round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
As you know, the reigning champion of Spain will play against the reigning champion of Italy, Napoli, at this stage.
“In the Champions League there is no place for the concept of luck, we are talking about the league champion, Napoli, who have high-level players. In football, talking about luck is simply nonsense.
I think it’s good to be here and not get into the second round, to go to the Europa League,” Deco said, as quoted by Barça Universal.
The first legs of the round of 16 will take place on 13, 14, 20 and 21 February 2024, with the return legs scheduled for 5, 6, 12 and 13 March.
The final game of the 2023/2024 UEFA Champions League season will take place on 1 June 2024 at Wembley Stadium in London. Last season, the trophy was lifted over their heads by the Manchester City players, who also reached the playoffs this season and will play against Copenhagen.
