Ismaila Sarr has put an end to rumours suggesting that he had an altercation with his team-mate Pape Gueye during the 2026 World Cup. In a statement on Instagram, the Senegalese player insists that these are pure allegations fuelled by certain individuals seeking to divide the squad.

“I also want to put an end to a rumour that is doing the rounds: there has never been any altercation between Pape Gueye and me. It is completely untrue. In difficult times, some people seek to create divisions. Our response will always be the same: to remain united.
