Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani may attempt to acquire Manchester United once again. According to MatchDay Central, the Qatari billionaire is preparing a new bid after his previous offer of £5.5 billion failed to result in the purchase of the club.

Jassim reportedly remains determined to bring an end to the Glazer family's ownership while being prepared to retain Jim Ratcliffe's stake, which amounts to 27% of the shares. The potential owner's promises include fully clearing Manchester United's debt and building a new stadium to replace the current Old Trafford.

At the same time, according to the source, if a renewed attempt to acquire the Manchester club fails once again, Tottenham could become the Qatari's fallback option.

Jassim's possible return could reignite the debate over the future of English football, which already features clubs backed by Middle Eastern owners. Manchester City are linked to investors from Abu Dhabi, while Newcastle United are owned by a consortium led by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund.
