There are still a few steps away from the scudetto. Inter won another victory
In the 30th round of Serie A, Inter defeated Empoli at their home stadium, Giuseppe Meazza.
Inter managed to take the lead as early as the fifth minute. Interestingly, the goal was orchestrated solely by the team's defenders. Central defender Alessandro Bastoni delivered a cross from the flank, and Federico Dimarco scored with an excellent one-touch shot from outside the penalty area.
Throughout the match, Inter pressed Empoli's goal, but they only scored their second goal in the 81st minute. Alexis Sanchez found the empty net after a shot from Denzel Dumfries.
Under Simone Inzaghi's guidance, Inter has accumulated 79 points and maintained a 14-point lead over Milan. With 8 rounds remaining in the season, Inter is just a few steps away from securing the Scudetto.
Empoli, after this defeat, dropped into the relegation zone. Davide Nicola's team has 25 points, the same as Frosinone, but they are lower in the table due to a worse goal difference.
