Barcelona has definitively decided not to offer contract extensions to two players whose contracts expire in the summer.

According to Relevo, the Blaugranas have made the final decision not to renew their collaboration with Sergi Roberto. Additionally, the club will part ways with Marcos Alonso.

It is noted that the decision regarding the Spanish defender was made some time ago, and in the case of the team captain Roberto, there was a chance he would stay for another year. However, the impending departure of head coach Xavi Hernandez influenced the decision regarding the midfielder's future. He is no longer part of the club's plans.

The 32-year-old Roberto is a product of Barcelona's youth academy and has been playing for the first team since 2013. In the current campaign, he has played 14 matches, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist.

Alonso, 33, is a graduate of Real Madrid's academy and joined Barcelona in 2022 from Chelsea. This season, he has played only 7 matches.
