Today, the world’s fourth-ranked tennis player, Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan, was scheduled to play her second-round match at the 2024 US Open against France’s Jessika Ponchet, who is currently ranked 143rd in the world.

However, Rybakina has officially withdrawn from the tournament due to injury.

Rybakina reached the semifinals at Wimbledon 2024, but subsequently withdrew from the 2024 Olympics due to health issues.

Ponchet, who has never advanced to the third round of a Grand Slam before, will face the winner of the match between Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki and Mexico’s Renata Zarazúa in the next round.
