The renowned Kazakhstani tennis player Elena Rybakina, currently ranked fourth in the world, has advanced to the quarter-finals of Wimbledon 2024.

In the round of 16, Rybakina defeated the 17th-ranked Anna Kalinskaya, who does not represent any country in the tournament.

However, the match could not be played to completion. In the first set, Kalinskaya was leading 3-1, but later felt pain in her knee and took a medical time-out with Rybakina leading 4-3. Ultimately, Rybakina won the set 6-3.

In the second set, with Rybakina leading 3-0, Kalinskaya was unable to continue.

In the quarter-finals, Rybakina will face the winner of the match between Elina Svitolina and Wang Xinyu.
