Canadian tennis player Bianca Andreescu (WTA 95) will miss the Australian Open 2024 due to a back injury she sustained in the summer. The 23-year-old athlete last played in early August in Montreal.
Andreescu plans to return to the tour in February or March, possibly participating in the tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami.
"We are very close to the comeback, but I am still dealing with a back injury. Every day, the situation is improving. I am doing everything possible to recover as quickly as possible, but these things take time. I feel confident heading into 2024," said Andreescu.
In 2019, Andreescu won the US Open in tennis, and her highest ranking in the WTA is fourth.
