Over the weekend, the PGA Tour event, the John Deere Classic, typically held a week before the Open Championship, took place in Illinois.
This year, American Davis Thompson emerged as the champion of the tournament. Over four days, he navigated the course with a score of -28, well above par. His standout performance came on the third day, where he completed the round in 62 strokes. In the final round, Thompson maintained his lead, preventing his competitors from closing in. This victory marks his first title at the PGA level.
Finishing in second place were three golfers tied at -24: Cheng Pan, Thorbjornsen, and Clanton.
Next week in the world of golf, the Open Championship of Scotland will take place from Thursday to Sunday, July 11-14.
