Since Ange Postecoglou took over Tottenham at the beginning of the current season, his team has shown incredible results and held the lead in the Premier League for quite some time. However, this fairy tale quickly came to an end, and Spurs began to suffer numerous defeats. The team was knocked out of the Football League Cup, the FA Cup, and currently sits in fifth place in the Premier League.

Yesterday, in the 29th round of the Premier League, Tottenham suffered a devastating 0-3 defeat to Fulham.

After the match, Postecoglou stated that they had lost hope of competing for a top-four spot in the Premier League, for a place in the Champions League zone. Speaking to Sky Sports, he joked:

“The race for the top four is over, so we'll just go for sixth place”.

Then he added:

"I mean, we're two points behind Aston Villa. Yeah. What does that mean with ten games to go? There are still ten games left to play.

Psychologically, I'm not overly concerned about it. It's ten games, plenty of matches left to play. If we had one point today, nothing would have been guaranteed; we could have lost last week, nothing would have been guaranteed. So, I'm not worried about it, and I never have been. It's not just about securing a certain position in the table."

Following Aston Villa's demolition last week (4-0), Spurs had a great opportunity to surpass Unai Emery's team by beating Fulham, but it didn't happen. They continue to trail the "Lions" by two points.
