The thirst for victory. Atletico have already won 5 matches this season by scoring after the 90th minute

Madrid's Atletico continues its chase of Real Madrid and Barcelona in the battle for the La Liga championship title.

On April 6, during the 30th round, Simeone's squad faced Sevilla away. After conceding an early goal, the Madrid side responded with a precise strike from Alvarez from the penalty spot, and in the 90+3 minute, they clinched victory thanks to Barrios' efforts.

Statistics portal Opta Jose reports that this match marked the fifth time this La Liga season that Atletico scored a winning goal after the 90th minute. Notably, Sevilla has been defeated twice this season by the "Colchoneros" in this dramatic fashion.

Let's recall that last season, the German side Bayer had simply fantastic numbers for goals scored in stoppage time. Xabi Alonso's team netted as many as 17 goals after the 90th minute and eventually won the Bundesliga and the German Cup.
