In the Youth World Championship, a survival match took place in the elite division between the national teams of Germany and Norway.

In the first period, the teams exchanged goals. Initially, Germany took the lead, but towards the end of the period, Norway equalized. The same scenario unfolded in the second 20-minute segment, with the Germans regaining the lead, only for the Norwegians to level the score again.

During the third period, Germany scored two goals within a minute, establishing a 4-2 lead. It seemed they would comfortably maintain this advantage, but Norway staged an incredible comeback. Six minutes before the end, the Norwegians narrowed the gap, and two minutes later, the score was tied at 4-4. The game went into overtime.

Germany needed only 58 seconds to net the decisive goal. Consequently, the Germans emerged victorious with a 5-4 score, securing their position in the elite division of the youth level. Norway, on the other hand, is relegated to Division I-A.
