On the night of Thursday, 22 January, we witnessed a second-round match at the Australian Open in which Novak Djokovic defeated Italy’s Francesco Maestrelli and extended his unique streak.

Details: According to Opta, Djokovic remains unbeaten in singles matches at Grand Slam tournaments against opponents who came through qualifying and lucky losers. His record stands at 37–0.

Novak has the highest number of wins among all undefeated players in the Open Era in such matches.

In the next round of the Australian Open, Djokovic will face Dutchman Van de Zandschulp. The match will take place on Saturday, 24 January.
