The strangest injury of the season. Axel Tuanzebe nearly lost a finger while washing dishes
Former Manchester United, Napoli, and Aston Villa player Axel Tuanzebe, who currently plays for Ipswich, has suffered an incredibly strange and unfortunate injury.
Details: According to DailyMail, the footballer was washing dishes at home when he accidentally broke a glass. One of the shards deeply cut Tuanzebe's hand, necessitating urgent medical attention. There were fears that he could lose his thumb due to the injury.
Fortunately, doctors performed surgery and managed to save Tuanzebe's finger. Ipswich head coach Kieran McKenna explained that the player will be sidelined for some time.
Quote: "He suffered a hand injury; it was a very unfortunate accident," McKenna explained on Saturday. "He underwent surgery and will be out for a while. It won't just be a couple of weeks; it might be longer.
We're still discussing it with specialists. Of course, he's missed out on the good start he had to the season. He will be out for a while," the Ipswich manager elaborated.
This season, the English footballer of Congolese descent has played six matches without registering any goals or assists.
Reminder: Ipswich striker Samuel Delap set a historic club record in the Premier League, becoming the youngest player to score a brace for the Tractor Boys at just 21 years and 234 days old.
