This summer, superstar forward Kylian Mbappé joined Real Madrid as a free agent from PSG, but the story could have unfolded quite differently.
Details: According to L'Equipe, in the summer of 2022, Mbappé had agreed to a proposal from Liverpool. The forward was dissatisfied with PSG's transfer activity and was keen to leave the club at that time.
Moreover, Mbappé admired Jürgen Klopp's methods and was eager to work with the German coach.
However, French President Emmanuel Macron intervened, convincing Mbappé to stay at PSG.
Reminder: At the start of the current season, Mbappé went three La Liga matches without scoring, but netted a brace in the fourth round against Real Betis. He also scored in Real Madrid's UEFA Super Cup win over Atalanta (2-0).
Mbappé’s contract with Real Madrid runs until the summer of 2029.
Earlier, Kylian Mbappé stated that he no longer has any financial grievances with PSG
