The stellar Australian tennis player, Nick Kyrgios, who has participated in only one match in 2023, voiced his opposition to the merger of the ATP and WTA:

"If we are consolidating the tours, then we ought to unify the draws, amalgamate everything.

Why does tennis alone have to contemplate this? If the WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) proposed merging with the NBA, they would be ridiculed.

At the Australian Open, I played for four hours, and then Svitolina stepped onto the court for 40 minutes – and we were compensated equally."

Earlier, Nick mentioned the possibility of concluding his career.
