The prize fund of Wimbledon 2024 will reach its highest ever in the tournament's history.
This year, tennis players will compete for a staggering £50 million. The prize fund will see a significant increase of £5.3 million ($6.8 million) compared to last year, marking an 11.9% rise.
Interestingly, this amount surpasses by £25 million ($32 million) what was awarded to participants in the Grand Slam tournament on grass courts a decade ago.
Champions and finalists in the women's and men's singles will receive £2.7 million (a 14.9% increase from last year) and £1.4 million (a 19.1% increase from last year) respectively.
Players exiting in the first round of the singles will receive £60,000 each (approximately $76,000 USD), up from £55,000 ($70,000 USD) in 2023.
Wimbledon 2024 is scheduled to take place from July 1 to July 14.
