The situation is critical: Sevilla may sign Sergio Ramos due to defensive woes
Ramos could become both a player and an owner at Sevilla.
Details: According to Cadenaser Sport, Spanish side Sevilla have seriously begun considering re-signing their 39-year-old former player Sergio Ramos.
This decision emerged among Sevilla’s management after a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Mallorca in matchweek 22 of La Liga. The coaching staff believes Ramos’s experience and leadership could significantly bolster the team’s defensive solidity both on the pitch and in the dressing room.
Given earlier reports that Sergio was close to purchasing shares in Sevilla, he could become a full-fledged player-owner of the club—a move not prohibited by the regulations of La Liga or the Royal Spanish Football Federation.
Ramos has already had two spells with Sevilla: from 2004 to 2005, as a homegrown talent, and from 2023 to 2024, after which he left as a free agent. In total, Ramos has made 87 appearances for Sevilla, netting 10 goals and providing 1 assist.
Currently, Ramos is a free agent, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €800,000.
