The Serie A match of the 29th round between Atalanta and Fiorentina was postponed due to the hospitalization of Fiorentina's director, Joe Barone. Several hours before the game, it became known that Barone was hospitalized with a "serious" and "sudden" illness.

The teams were supposed to meet on Sunday at 18:00 Central European Time, but now the match will be rescheduled for a later date. Serie A will announce the new date and time of the match later.

58-year-old Barone has been serving as Fiorentina's director since November 2019 and works closely with president Rocco Commisso.

Fiorentina currently occupies the eighth position in the Serie A table after 28 rounds. Atalanta from Bergamo is in the sixth position and still hopes to qualify for the Champions League zone.

In their last match, the Viola defeated Israeli side Maccabi Haifa and advanced to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Conference League.
