Senegal could soon learn the name of its next head coach, one month after Pape Thiaw’s departure. Patrick Vieira is reported to have reached an agreement with the Senegalese Football Federation to take the reins of the national team.
According to the Senegalese press, the Senegalese Football Federation is expected to officially announce the appointment of the former French international as head of the Lions of Teranga’s coaching staff next Tuesday. Patrick Vieira’s contract is expected to be for four years, with objectives set by the governing body of Senegalese football.
Patrick Vieira’s mission is reportedly to lead Senegal to the final of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations and to qualify the Lions of Teranga for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
