In the Youth World Championship on Thursday, January 4, the semi-final matches took place. In one of these encounters, the United States faced Finland.

The Americans started the match very energetically, but it was the Finns who opened the scoring. The USA attempted an immediate response, but Finland defended adeptly and netted a second goal. The teams went into the first intermission with Finland leading 2-0.

In the second period, the USA shifted into high gear and played even more aggressively. It proved effective as the U.S. national team executed a comeback to level the score. Two goals within four minutes resulted in a tie game.

The decisive moment occurred in the third period. The match unfolded amidst intense competition, but on the 15th minute, defenseman Kasper Kulonummi received a penalty. The Americans capitalized on this opportunity and scored the third goal.

The United States triumphs 3-2 and advances to the final of the Youth World Hockey Championship, where they will face Sweden. The game is set for Friday, January 5.
