Saudi Pro League has attracted a huge influx of star players and major financial investment, but the competition is now preparing for another major step forward.

Details: According to reports from Ben Jacobs, the Saudi Pro League has introduced a new four-year model designed to help clubs recruit elite-level talent while also encouraging more responsible decision-making across both sporting and commercial operations.

Under the revised structure, 22 percent of funding will be distributed equally among all clubs. The remaining allocation will now depend on footballing performance, television viewership, and commercial results.

Under the new framework:

  • 22 percent of the budget will be shared equally among clubs
  • 22 percent will be distributed according to average league position over the past three seasons
  • 28 percent will be tied to television audience figures
  • 28 percent will be linked to commercial performance over the same period

Each season, approximately $2 billion is allocated from the central fund for transfers, player wages, and agents’ commissions, although neither Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport nor the clubs themselves have officially confirmed the exact figures.

Reminder: legendary Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo continues to rewrite football history. In a recent Saudi Pro League clash against Al-Shabab FC, Ronaldo once again showcased his remarkable eye for goal.
