The right decision? After VAR intervention, the referee overturns penalty against Chelsea
The first semi-final of the FIFA Club World Cup between Fluminense and Chelsea is underway. Even in the first half, both teams brought plenty of fire to the pitch, delivering a rollercoaster of emotions for the fans.
Details: In the 36th minute, the referee suspected a handball by Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah inside his own penalty area. Initially, François Letexier pointed to the spot, but after being called over to the monitor by the video assistant referees, the French official reversed his decision and cancelled the penalty that would have favored Fluminense.
Reminder: Earlier, the Brazilian side nearly scored from open play, but Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella managed a heroic goal-line clearance, kicking the ball away at the very last moment.
