The reigning world champion has extended his contract with Aston Villa
One of the world's best goalkeepers, Emiliano Martínez, plans to continue his career with Aston Villa for a long time.
Today, the Birmingham club officially announced the extension of the Argentine goalkeeper's contract, now set to run until the summer of 2029.
To mark the signing of the new contract, Aston Villa shared a compilation of Martínez's best moments with the team on their X account.
Emiliano Martínez joined Aston Villa in the summer of 2020 from Arsenal. Since then, he has made 160 appearances for the "Lions."
It is worth noting that with the Argentine national team, Martínez won the 2022 World Cup and has twice claimed the Copa América. He was the first-choice goalkeeper in all three tournaments.
In the 2024/25 season, Aston Villa will play in the Champions League for the first time in 42 years.
