The reigning A-League and AFC Cup champion is facing serious issues with their star striker, Ángel Torres.
Details: According to WatsNews, the footballer has been accused of rape, assault, and intimidation of a woman. Torres has pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to him in the Gosford District Court.
Prosecutors claim the incident took place on March 24, 2024. The Central Coast striker has been charged with aggravated sexual intercourse without consent. Two additional charges relate to assault and intimidation of the woman.
The footballer will remain free until March 25, 2024, when the court will hold a hearing on the case. The most serious charge against Torres carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
