Legendary Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic suffered his first defeat on Australian courts in six years.

In the quarterfinal match of the United Cup, Djokovic lost in straight sets to Australian Alex de Minaur, who is ranked 12th in the world. De Minaur won both sets with a score of 6:4.

Djokovic's winning streak in Australia lasted for 43 matches. His previous defeat in Australia was against South Korean Hyeon Chung in the fourth round of the Australian Open in 2018.

It is known that Djokovic had wrist problems before the game, and during the match, he had to seek medical attention.

Australia leads 2-0 in the match against Serbia. In the next match, Ayla Tomljanovic defeated Serbian player Natalija Stevanovic (6:1, 6:1).

Earlier, L'Equipe named Djokovic the best athlete of the outgoing year.
