The president of the Peruvian Football Federation has been arrested for fraud
The Peruvian police are conducting an investigation as part of a criminal case involving fraud related to television rights.
Details: According to AP News, police have arrested Agustín Lozano, president of the Peruvian Football Federation. He is suspected of abusing his position by pressuring local clubs to relinquish their television rights.
He promised to resolve any misunderstandings and asked the public to allow a fair decision.
Additionally, police arrested six other individuals involved in the case. The prosecution reports that Agustín Lozano and others tried to seize profitable broadcasting rights from Peru’s first division football teams. Clubs unwilling to comply were threatened with exclusion from Peru’s top football league.
