The president of Barcelona held talks with one of the main candidates for the position of head coach for the upcoming season.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Blaugrana boss met and held preliminary discussions with Hansi Flick.

It is noted that the coach himself enthusiastically welcomed the opportunity to lead the Catalan team. However, the negotiations were only preliminary, as Laporta and Deku have not yet made a final decision regarding the candidacy of the new coach.

In addition to Flick, the club is considering Roberto De Zerbi, Julian Nagelsmann, and Thomas Tuchel, according to media reports.

Recall that in September of last year, Flick was dismissed from his position as head coach of the German national team. From November 2019 to June 2021, the specialist coached Bayern Munich, with whom he won the Bundesliga and the Champions League.

Barcelona currently occupy the third position in the La Liga table after 26 rounds. On Sunday, March 3, Xavi's team will face Athletic Bilbao.
