President Claudio Lotito of Lazio has revealed that the team's veteran, Luis Alberto, desires to terminate his contract and leave the club.

Interestingly, last October, the Spanish midfielder signed a new agreement with the club extending until June 2027.

“Luis Alberto wants to leave as free agent and terminate the contract but he recently signed a new four year deal. I’m not crazy, if he wants to leave Lazio he has to bring a proposal to sign him. We’re not wasting our money”, Lotito said.

In the current season, the 31-year-old midfielder has played 39 matches for Lazio across all competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 8 assists. He has been with the team since 2016.

Lazio currently occupies the seventh position in Serie A. On April 19th, the Roman "Eagles" will face Genoa.
