The Polish national team led by Swiatek defeated China and reached the semi-finals of the United Cup

The Polish tennis team has become the first semifinalist in the United Cup 2024.

In the quarterfinals, the red-and-white team defeated China, winning both singles matches.

Firstly, Hubert Hurkacz (ATP 9) defeated Zhang Zhizhen (ATP 58) in straight sets in 1 hour and 23 minutes.

In the women's match, the world No. 1 Iga Swiatek defeated Zheng Qinwen (WTA 14) in two sets in 1 hour and 35 minutes.

It's worth noting that Iga has won all her matches in the tournament: 3 singles matches and 2 doubles matches partnering with Hurkacz.

In the mixed doubles match, Katarzyna Piter / Jan Zielinski will face Yu Xiaodi / Sun Fazheng, but this match will not affect the overall outcome of the tie.
